I went to the library today to do what I like to call “Speed Picking”. (Also, I’m staying away from bookstores because I’m broke. And let’s be real, who actually has self-control in bookstores? Yeah, that’s what I thought.) A  It’s pretty self-explanatory. I scan every row of every shelf and stop at a random book. I borrow said book, making sure to check it’s not the second or third in a series. It’s what I do when I don’t know what to read, especially since I’ve been so out of the loop with young adult fiction lately.

Today’s haul:

• The Industry by Rose Foster
• Talon by Julie Kagawa
• Skulk by Rosie Best
• Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

I plan on finishing and reviewing all of these — including The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater which I have yet to pick up from another library, and The Reposession by Sam Hawksmoor which I’m halfway through — by the end of the month. A big task, but when I said I wanted to dive back in to my old reading habits, I meant it.
